Yes! You totally get what we are talking about with the handshake! It builds trust and makes a connection when done correctly. Thank you for reading and getting the message of the importance of global collaboration in education.

Anne,

Thank you for sharing from a strength based approach, despite your reservations--

I guess I'm feeling appreciating our own strengths can enable us to better embrace this approach with those we coach- as Beth articulated?

The strengths you've identified, in my humble opinion, serve you/will serve you well in your service to others. When you employ them in your work, my sense is you will find your participants finding their way and managing their challenges.

My best wishes,
Lani

Anne,
Thank you for your dedication to our learning as you stayed up late on Tuesday evenings for our webinars resulting in those "bleary eyed" Wednesday mornings.

I appreciate the expertise and experience that you brought to our learning and bring to your coaching. The members of the Powerful Learning Practice community Hub continue to grow through your coaching presence.

Your description of the appreciative inquiry approach:
"puts the teacher in the role of competent, striving expert rather than deficient, out of date, out of touch victim which is how many teachers feel when leaving traditional professional development events."
captures the essence--
And your comments on learning and doing are important to me as I strive to experiment further with the design of the course.

Thank you, Anne, for all you have contributed (including the resource on Heutagogy)-- I have learned much with you. I am grateful that our paths have crossed,

Yes, sometimes you have to be a very brave person to work on your own on these issues. I have heard some of 'my' teachers, especially when I first started in 2009, who had to go through some extraordinary hoops in order to just use the institution's computers in their class, or have audio switched on and ready to use or just to be able to use a program or online service which is free of charge. Much easier when everyone is working towards the same aim.

Anne,
I appreciate the comment "There is a much greater chance of success in these areas when whole teams are working consistently on the same goals than if an individual teacher takes the initiative." I am finding that the strength in our community as learners is also allowing me to learn much more, at a greater depth, and much more quickly. I have found being a teacher in the past very isolating and making change as an individual quite challenging. There truly is strength in the group process.
Thanks for sharing, and I am enjoying learning with you:)
Best,
Sarah Blattner

Anne,
Thank you so much for sharing this reflection--
I really appreciate your comments about the potential for teams to be successful in effecting change and for the connections you are making regarding envisioning the future and evoking strengths with the other work you are doing.
Your perspective and the expertise you bring to our teams and your colleagues in the online course space have enabled deeper learning for all.
Best,
Lani

Thanks Nicky, I hope that I covered most types. After I created the classification I realised that I mostly fit into the sharing knowledge category, so typical teacher then!
