Building a collaborative presentation

One of the five main aspects of sustainability is the ability to collaborate with others. This is necessary in order to achieve large-scale effects that would not otherwise be possible. Given that a sustainable future is a large-scale project then collaboration makes sense.

One idea to make this advantage of collaboration concrete is to contribute to the making of a collaborative presentation that puts together the experience of the group with a result that is greater than the whole.

This is an idea for the Prof E Sus teacher training course that we did not in the end use since we had many other ideas for exploring collaboration.

Given that the target group is home economics teachers we thought it might be a good idea to collate ideas on sustainable products. Therefore we prepared a Google slide template which we seeded with a couple of suggestions. The task would then have been for each course participant to add a slide about a product they know and recommend in the appropriate section of the presentation.

The final product could then be converted to a PDF document leaving participants with a valuable and concrete artifact at the end of the task.

Note that the template below is more or less empty with only a couple of entries since the task was not included in the pilot course in the end. We had doubts about promoting purchases as a way of achieving sustainability!

However the concept of a jointly produced product is still a good one.
