High commitment and many ideas

ProfESus-Course successfully finalized

The last Module 4 of the ProfESus blended learning course ”Discovering a Sustainable Mindset – for future-thinking professionals in guest-oriented businesses” was conducted at LAUREA – University of Applied Sciences, Finland. Participants from 14 different countries presented their learning activity plans, which they had developed in the online Module 3 and conducted in their schools/businesses.

The lesson topics, related to household and guest-oriented businesses, demonstrated the multifaceted cultures of the participants. All lesson examples showed the high commitment of the participants for sustainability goals and, most of all, for the learner-centered learning processes. They followed the newly developed “ProfESus-Concept”, which is based on the  “Green Pedagogy” approach combined with the sustainability competences of UNECE.

In addition to the assessment of the learning activity plans, the following topics were on the agenda: assessment of a sustainable mindset, indicators for sustainability and sustainable processes, change management and transformation of schools, businesses and communities.

The collaboration during the two presence phases and the online phases was a great experience for all participants. The professional and intercultural exchange of experiences was an important aspect for the success of the ProfESus course.

The participants want to continue to keep in contact to foster the exchange of ideas, activities and their experiences regarding education and sustainability.

Over the next few months all materials and data of the project will be published and translated in different languages. Please follow the link below to use all outcomes, project handbooks, the course materials and the best-practice-plans for successful learning activities:
